Merrilee Moore

Merrilee Moore, LSHS Class of 1983, began her artistic journey in Lake Stevens, continued it at CWU [1987 – ‘thanks to books on tape’], enjoyed a bit of useful, youthful aimlessness, gave herself an ultimatum , chose ‘the one less-travelled by,’ and began to offer her unique artistic vision to us all. The artistry of Merrilee’s achievements in the Art and Glass World led to Solo Shows and Exhibitions. Her work featured in arts publications nationwide earned many awards, and Merrilee was named Artist of the Year by the Everett Arts Council. Recognized with a PONCHO award for excellence, Merrilee has been involved with many museum exhibitions, numerous public art projects, and important private collections throughout the Northwest. She won both the 2006 People’s Choice Award of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and also the Anacortes, Washington 2010 Call to Artists for a sculpture in the city’s roundabout. Her work graces the homes and private art collections of Elton John, Shaquille O’Neill, and the Getty family, among others. Merrilee’s voice, her artistic spirit, especially with youth, encourages us all to seek and heed beauty more often, more closely, more peacefully, while never losing self-confidence and determination. Good Lessons For all Vikings.
