HARV JUBIE

 

Harvey R. Jubie was born August 2, 1942, in Everett, Washington.  In his youth, he attended schools in the Everett and Lake Stevens areas and graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1960.  Between 1964 and 1970, he served in the Washington State National Guard.

After graduation, he started an electrical apprenticeship and received his journeyman card in 1964 the age of 22.  In 1967, he started his own company called Jubie Electric and also started building houses on the side.  In 1980’s, Harv quit the electrical business and concentrated on construction, building both residential and commercial rental properties, which he continued to do to this day.

Harv and his wife Jan were married on June 30, 1967.  They have three daughters Cathy, Kris, and Becca.  Harv has served on a number boards including North County Bank,  Providence General Foundation, Marysville Chamber of Commerce, and the Marysville YMCA, where he was involved with the construction of a new YMCA facility.

He joined the Marysville Noon Rotary in 1991 and has served on the board since 1992.  He served as President for the 1998 – 1999 Rotary year.  He also has served a Assistant District Governor of Area H for 2 years.  Harv and Jan both are Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors, and Rotary International Benefactors.

Harv has volunteered on a number of projects in the Marysville area.  He has also traveled to a small village in the northwest mountains of Guatemala the last six years to work on various projects.  The last two years he has helped other Rotarians in the building of a small school in a remote village.  Here is a great example of the community spirit of the Vikings.
