LARRY JUBIE

 

Lawrence “Larry” Jubie was born June 10, 1947 in Everett, Washington.  He attended Hillcrest Elementary and graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1965.  He served in the Washington Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972.

After graduating from High School, he began a training program at Security Bank in Lynnwood.  While working he attended night school at Everett Community College.  During his banking career, he worked for four different banks holding various positions.  He retired from City Bank in Lynnwood in 1993 as a Senior Vice President.

Larry and his wife Linda were married on July 30, 1983 and have two sons.  In 1995, Larry joined the Marysville Rotary Club and has served on numerous committees and Board Positions.  He served as President during the 2001-02 Rotary year, was appointed Assistant Governor in 2005 and is currently the Co-Chair of the District Conference.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Major Donor of The Rotary Foundation and the recipient of the Four Avenues of Service award.

He has donated hundreds of hours of community service in the areas which he has lived.  He has served on numerous committees for the City of Marysville and the Marysville School District.  In addition, he served on the Board of the Marysville YMCA, a Trustee of the Snohomish County YMCA and is currently the Treasurer and Chair of the Investment Committee for the Providence General Hospital Foundation.

He has recently returned from his 6th trip to Guatemala.  In conjunction with the Marysville Rotary Club and the Hands for Peacemaking Foundation, he has traveled to remote mountain villages to build schools for Mayan Indians.  It is common for these villages to have no electricity or running water.  Larry has made the Vikings proud with his wide variety of community involvement.
